Sir John Chilcot seems to be a reasonable man and hopefully, one without bias or discrimination. He has spoken of candour and fairness and we all hope the inquiry into the reasons for the Iraq war will be exposed.
Let us not fool ourselves though. If he does not come up with the real reasons for the start of this war, then he will be hiding behind a curtain of gross lies and the incompetence of World leaders.I hope to see in his final report the following:
1. An complete or incomplete assessment of Saddam's weapons of destruction.
2. A biased report by the military on every level of the WMD Saddam had in his arsenal.
3. A concerted effort by the triumvirate plus one to convince the public that Saddam was a threat to World security (Yes, they had not yet confronted Iran's intentions)
4. A complete failure to prepare Iraq for a post-Saddam era.
5. A complete failure to ensure the safety of Iraqui citizens.
6. A complete failure of planning on every aspect of an Iraq after the war. Here they failed badly.
7. A deliberate attempt to bring Britain into a war badly planned and conceived.
Here are the names of the triumvrate plus one.
-Tony Blair
-George W. Bush
-Donald Rumsfeld
-Dick Cheney.
If the actions of these men are not included in the inquiry, then I suggest that the inquiry will be flawed.
